What are car Auctions Like?

There are over 130 individual car auction sites in the U.K. and new ones are opening up all the time. They vary in size and frequency, from the smallest, offering perhaps 50 vehicles once a week to the largest state-of-the-art operations which handle thousands of vehicles. The atmosphere at different auctions can vary too, from calm corporate efficiency to the buzz of a wild-west frontier trading post. Some have restaurants and heated sales halls, at others you hug your mug of tea to keep warm. There are genuine bargains to be had at them all, as well as some of the worst cars you are ever likely to see offered for sale.

The majority are models of commercial efficiency. They all have their own particular role to fulfill. Even if you have no intention of buying a car, a visit to a car auction can be tremendous fun.
